Student-athlete Natacha Fernandes, from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Lisbon, won the silver medal in the Kata (Karate) Final at the World University Combat Sports Championship, which is taking place in Brasília, Brazil.

Representing Portugal, she distinguished herself with an international-level performance, winning all her group stage matches 5-0 and maintaining her dominance in the knockout stage, where she overcame opponents from Thailand (5-0) and Italy (4-1).
In the final, she faced LO Sum Man from Hong Kong, in a duel marked by the strong balance between the finalists. The final was decided by just one point, with a final score of 3-2 in favor of the Hong Kong native.
The silver medal won by Natacha Fernandes is the second international medal for FADU Portugal in this sport.
With this result, Portugal concludes its participation in the World University Combat Sports Championship.
